Dorina Vaccaroni

GENERAL BIOGRAPHY

Dorina Vaccaroni has been an accomplished competitive athlete at the international level since the age of sixteen, first in Fencing (foil) and subsequently in Cycling. One of the hardest-working professional athletes in the world, Dorina tackles every race and competition with her trademark tenacity, passion, and charisma. She holds a degree in Physical Education, is a vegan and loves animals. She was awarded Italian Sportswoman of the year award in 1983 and has gone on to win many other titles since then.

A lifelong vegan, Dorina is living proof that a vegan athlete can have a very successful and fulfilling career at the highest levels. Through Dotsie Bausch, an Olympic cyclist, activist & vegan, Dorina was introduced to Switch4Good, a non-profit founded by Bausch whose mission focuses on promoting a plant-based, cruelty-free lifestyle that addresses climate change, food justice, and animal rights. Switch4Good also advocates for associated issues such as world hunger and workers’ rights. Dorina is excited to bring awareness of Switch4Good through her cycling – She is a total believer and champion for natural, organic, plant-based nutrition and is against any type of alternate chemical substances that athletes sometimes rely on. Visit Switch4Good at Switch4Good.org or on social media @Switch4Good.

Dorina lives in Escondido, California with a labradoodle and three Chihuahuas whom she loves and travels around the world. When she’s not on her bicycle, she works as a Fencing coach for Elite International Fencers Club, in the vibrant Plaza in Rancho Bernardo.
